Download device-specific GSD/EDS/XML files
Here you will find the device-specific GSD/EDS/XML files for the different fieldbus types.
Angular and Displacement Measurement
Notice:
Please download zip file and unzip data without changing the structure of the folder. The correlation between the sensor family and the corresponding fieldbus file are given by the folder structure and can be gleaned in the attached readme.wri file.
CAN DeviceNet
The EDS files (electronic datasheet) contain all information about the measuring system-specific parameters and the measuring system’s operating modes. The EDS file is integrated using the DeviceNetTM network configuration tool to correctly configure or operate the measuring system and is included in the package contents.
CANopen
The EDS files (electronic datasheet) contain all information on the measuring system-specific parameters and the measuring system’s operating modes. The EDS file is integrated using the CANopen network configuration tool to correctly configure or operate the measuring system and is included in the package contents.
Profibus-DP
A GSD is a readable ASCII text file and contains both general and device-specific specifications for communication. Each of the entries describes a feature that is supported by a device. By means of keywords, a configuration tool reads the device identification, the adjustable parameters, the corresponding data type and the permitted limit values for the configuration of the device from the GSD. Some of the keywords are mandatory, for example Vendor_Name. Others are optional, for example Sync_Mode_supported. A GSD replaces the previously conventional manuals and supports automatic checks for input errors and data consistency, even during the configuration phase.
The device database files (.GSD) are usable for all Profibus masters that are compatible to the standard and that are able to interpret them.
IO-Link
The IODD file (IO Device Description) is used for the IO-Link system integration and for commissioning of the measuring system. The IODD file is XML based and can be integrated of each IO-Link configuration tool.
Industrial Ethernet
The XML file (device description file) contain all information about the measuring system-specific parameters and the measuring system’s operating modes. The XML file is integrated using the network configuration tool to correctly configure or operate the measuring system and is included in the package contents.
The zip file contains device description for:
PROFINET, PROFINET/Profisafe, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Powerlink, Sercos
Compact Drives
CANopen
The EDS files (electronic datasheet) contain all information on the measuring system-specific parameters and the measuring system’s operating modes. The EDS file is integrated using the CANopen network configuration tool to correctly configure or operate the measuring system and is included in the package contents.

Profinet I/O
The XML file (device description file) contain all information about the drive-specific parameters and the drive’s operating modes. The XML file is integrated using the network configuration tool to correctly configure or operate the drive and is included in the package contents.
EtherCAT
With each EtherCAT device a device description file, the so-called "EtherCAT Slave Information" - File (ESI) must be delivered. The file is provided in XML and contains all information on the drive-specific parameters and the operating modes of the drive. The XML file is integrated by the EtherCAT network configuration tool, in order to enable correct configuration and commissioning of the drive system.
